Furniture should not be placed less than 1 m away from active heat sources (electric heaters, stoves, radiators, etc.).

The surfaces of table and coffee table tops should be protected from direct exposure to high temperatures (hot dishes), wetting (e.g., leaky vases), dampness, scratching (placing sharp objects or other items, e.g., metal sculptures, metal bag fittings), and chemically active solutions (e.g., spilled solvent, alcohol, body care products). These factors can cause damage, e.g., to the lacquer, and may result in stains, discoloration, or dulling. Coasters should be used to avoid damage.
